Lots
of bouldering activity in Smuggler’s Notch. Popularity seems to have increased
with Tim Kemple’s new bouldering guidebook. Some new routes have been appearing
up high in the Notch as well.
Last year was fantastic ice climbing despite some cold! Ice climbing begins around November 1st on thin, mixed lines. Look to ENT Gully for the earliest ice in Smuggler’s Notch.
Smuggler's Notch(VT), Mt. Washington(NH), and the North Face of PitchOff(NY) are all early season best-bets.
